Pension Eccentrics
Golf Society (PEGS)

PEGS was launched in January 2006 but can trace its roots back to September 1997 operating under various guises.

The Committee for 2007 will be:
Chairman : Dai Smith
Handicap Society : Dai Smith
Secretary : Neville Hall
Treasurer : Sam Fegan

The Society will run four events throughout the year. The PEGS trophy will continue to be awarded at each event and in addition there will be an Order of Merit Trophy for the four events.

The Order of Merit winner and runner-up will receive golf vouchers and the winner will receive the Robert Peak Trophy. Robert sadly died suddenly last year and he will be very much missed within PEGS.

The Final Order of Merit Table
1st Gregg Walt
2nd Stuart Gordon
3rd Neville Hall

The Robert Peak Trophy for 2007 was therefore awarded to Greg Watt at the awards dinner after the event at Gatton Manor GC. Greg is pictured below with his trophy awarded by Robert’s widow Eileen (fourth from left) and daughter Joanna (second from left) with a contingent from Premier Pensions Management also in attendance.

Congratulations to Gregg for his consistency during the season.

Also, thanks should go to the hard working committee of Neville , Sam and Dai who organised everything during the year and at times did not get the support from the membership they deserved.

Despite the 'promise' of rain during the day and a low turnout, those who did participate enjoyed the usual ardous 18 holes at The Addington. The golf course was in fantastic condition, the greens were beautifully cut - despite all the rain in the preceeding days even Tiger would have found them fast.

Winners on the day included:
Overall winner Keith Cuthbertson
2nd Stuart Gordon
3rd Neville Hall
Nearest the pin:
7th hole Stuart Gordon
11th hole Paul Couchman
